A deeply human experience.
Birth is raw, transformative, tender, unpredictable, and profoundly worthy of remembrance.
I document birth quietly and intuitively, preserving both the intensity and softness of the journey while honoring the space, people, and emotions surrounding it.
Whether your story unfolds at home, in a hospital, or in a birth center, my role is to create images that allow you to return to the experience honestly for years to come.
A grounded presence inside the birth space.
When families invite me into their births, they are inviting me into one of the most vulnerable experiences of their lives.
My presence in the birth space is calm, unobtrusive, and deeply respectful of what is unfolding. After more than a decade of documenting birth, I understand how to move with the rhythm of the room—offering quiet support while preserving the story as it naturally unfolds.
Whether working alongside doulas, midwives, nurses, or physicians, I approach every birth with tenderness, respect, and trust.
The Moments You Don’t Get Back
Birth is transformative, and memory during labor is often fleeting.
Many parents remember pieces of the experience, a hand squeeze, a first cry, the look on their partner’s face, but so much disappears into the intensity of the moment.
These photographs preserve the moments you were too immersed to see: your strength, the support surrounding you, your baby's first moments earthside, and the emotion woven through it all.
Years from now, they become more than photographs.
They become part of your family's history.

Birth FAQ
-
Most families book during the second trimester to ensure availability. Because birth photography requires being on call around your due date, I accept a limited number of births each month. Booking early helps guarantee a place on my calendar and gives us time to connect before your baby's arrival.
-
Birth moves quickly, and many of the most meaningful moments happen while you're fully immersed in the experience. Birth photography allows you to return to moments you may not remember, witness the strength you embodied, and see the love, support, and connection that surrounded your baby's arrival.
Many parents tell me they remember parts of their birth story differently after seeing their images. These photographs become a way to preserve not only what happened, but how it felt.
-
You'll keep me updated as labor begins and progresses, and I'll help guide communication along the way. I typically join you once active labor is established, while there is still enough time to document the story as it naturally unfolds.
My goal is to document the full experience, not just the moment of birth, but the anticipation, support, strength, and connection that lead up to it.
-
Birth is unpredictable, and communication is key. I encourage clients to update me early, even if labor still feels manageable. While no birth photographer can guarantee arrival for precipitous births, I do everything possible to be there once I'm called in.
The earlier I know labor may be beginning, the better positioned I am to respond quickly if things progress faster than expected.
-
Your birth story is still deeply worthy of being documented.
I have photographed many cesarean births and am comfortable working within operating room environments while remaining respectful of the medical team and sterile field. These stories often hold some of the most emotional moments: the anticipation, the first cry, the first meeting, the quiet connection afterward, and the transition into recovery and parenthood.
Whether your birth unfolds exactly as planned or takes an unexpected turn, your story matters.
-
In the unlikely event that circumstances beyond my control prevent me from attending your birth, I will communicate with you immediately and follow the contingency plan outlined in your contract.
Because birth photography is an on-call service, I maintain relationships with trusted birth photographers who may be available for backup coverage if an emergency arises. Every reasonable effort will be made to ensure your birth story is documented.
-
In most cases, yes. Hospital policies vary by provider, facility, and situation, but birth photography is generally welcomed when it does not interfere with patient care or medical procedures.
I work respectfully within the birth environment and follow the guidance of your medical team at all times. If restrictions arise during labor or surgery, I adapt accordingly and prioritize the safety and care of both pregnant person and baby.
-
My primary role is to document your birth, but after years spent inside birth spaces, I often become a natural part of the support system surrounding a laboring family.
I understand the rhythm of birth, offer grounded emotional support throughout labor, and work intuitively alongside midwives, doulas, nurses, and partners while preserving your story as it unfolds.
For families who desire a more involved level of support, select collections include birth support in addition to photography coverage. These offerings are designed to provide a more connected and supported experience throughout labor while still maintaining my primary role as your photographer.
While I do not replace a doula or provide clinical care, my presence within the birth space is calm, engaged, and deeply supportive. I believe documentation and support can coexist beautifully, allowing families to feel both cared for and fully seen during one of the most transformative days of their lives.

Your comfort matters. Birth photography does not have to mean graphic imagery.
I document with care and intention, and we'll discuss your preferences beforehand so I understand what feels meaningful and respectful to you. Some families want every detail documented, while others prefer a more modest and emotion-focused approach. Your gallery will reflect your comfort level and vision.
-
Your full gallery is carefully edited and delivered within the timeframe outlined in your contract, typically 6-8 weeks. Rather than focusing on a specific number of images, I prioritize documenting the story fully and intentionally from beginning to end, preserving the moments that matter most.
